Learn My Way

This is an online course hosted by UK Online for complete beginners in all aspects of computing. It is completely free and, once you've registered, can be pursued at any time, from any computer. This Monday morning session with Craig Bell is to help you set up your profile with UK Online and navigate your way round the course to find which sections, if any, would be best for you. From absolute basics such as how to use a keyboard and mouse to job searches and online shopping, if you are uncertain about using computers, this could be right for you.

Tuesdays

Basic IT Skills 9:00am to 12 noon / Basic English 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Provided by Judith Vasey of Sunderland College, these are ongoing free courses for those who are uncertain about their IT and/or English skills. Whatever your level, these courses are designed to provide one-to-one support and — only when you feel confident — you can take nationally-recognised accreditation exams. You can start at any time: simply contact us or come along to chat to Judith on a Tuesday. One of Judith's learners, who is now working towards the next level, was named Sunderland College Student of the Month in December 2014, with another named Student of the Month in March 2015. Who knows, you could be next!

Healthy Cooking (on a budget)

Time: 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Cost: Free

Jaynie Dixon of JD Creative cooks up healthy meals from all over the world, with tips and tricks for money-saving ways to feed yourself and your family.

Fridays

Basic Maths Skills 9:00am to 12 noon

As with our Tuesday courses, this is run by Judith Vasey of Sunderland College on the same one-to-one basis.

These are courses we would run if there were enough people to make it worthwhile for both tutors and learners. Sad experience has taught us that sometimes a course has to come to an early end through lack of interest, but if you think any of these would be right for you, please put your name down on our list.
