HYCC offers the following services to the general public and businesses:

Photocopying services

We offer black-and-white and full colour copying in A4 and A3 sizes. Copies can be single or double-sided.

Cost: 10p per page — 20p for double-sided.

Discounts can be made for bulk copy orders – please ask at reception or contact us.

Computer printing services

We have several printers in the Centre and black-and-white or colour printouts can be made from most of our desktop or laptop computers. This includes any information you may have on a USB stick. Most of our printers can only print on A4 paper, but the office can also print A3 pages.

Cost: 10p per page.

Fax

We offer a fax service and, as far as we are aware, are the only premises in Horden to do so!

Cost: 50p to UK numbers — 75p to international numbers.

Computer and internet access

Except when the I.T. Suite (Tina Phillips Room) is being used for classes, access to 12 desktop computers is available to the public during opening hours. Several of the computers have specialist software for blind and vision-impaired users, and there is an adjustable desk for disabled users. Other specialist equipment (eg keyboard and mouse) is available on request.

Headphones are available for those using the specialist software, and for users who wish to listen to music. This prevents other customers from being disturbed by one individual.

We ask that anyone wishing to use the computers report to the Reception office first, and also that they sign in at the front door.

Computer access is FREE and, unless told otherwise, there is no time limit to computer sessions.

Please note that we would like you to finish your session by 5:30pm Monday–Thursday and 5:00pm on Fridays. The computers are not available at weekends.

Information, advice and guidance

We offer a variety of advice services, most of which are available at specific times or on request. These include:

Debt First Aider (supported by East Durham Trust)

Date: Thursdays
Time: 10:00 to 12:00

Easington Carers (informal socialising)

Date: Last Friday of the month
Time: 10:00 to 12:00

Fruit & vegetables

We have a fruit and veg stall every Wednesday between 9:00 and 14:00. The produce is locally sourced where possible and is provided by local company Holcroft at competitive prices.

Vision-impaired services

Braille transcription, large print and audio services for blind and vision-impaired. Contact us to discuss the services we offer to VIPs (Vision-Impaired People), or visit our Vision Impaired page for more details.
